3.  Blend Shape    Multiple Shapes

In this lesson, the models are little complicated.
The eye brows and the eyes are included in the head group.
I will show you how to apply Blend Shape on the head groups.

1.

Make sure all shapes has the same object order. See the picture above.
If the object order is different from the others, Blend  Shape doesn't work. Even  the each object names are different from the others, Blend  Shape still works.

2.

I am going to make a new target shape.
First, duplicate Neutral .

3.

Move to the next to the eye_sad

4.

I am going to make big surprise eye.
When you scale the object, scale in vertex mode. Don't scale in object mode.
Blend Shape doesn't understand changing scale in object mode, so always change scale in vertex mode.

5.

Scale the eye ball in vertex mode.

6.

Now I am going to flip the eye brow to the right side. Duplicate the left eyebrow.

7.

Scale -X.

8.

Freeze Transformation.

9.

Delete the old eye brow.

10.

Rename the new one as brow_R

11.

Delete the right eye ball.
I am going to duplicate the left eye ball and flip to the right side.

12.

Group the left eye ball.
Before duplicate the left eye ball, Group first so that the pivot point goes to the center of the head.
The pivot point (axis) is on the center of the eye ball. If I want to flip the eye ball to the right side, the pivot point should be on the center on the head.

13.

Duplicate the eye ball. Make sure, select the top node of the eye ball.

14.

Scale -X

15.

Freeze Transformations.

16.

Object order has to be the same as the other shapes. See the picture 1.
The order should be
brow_L
brow_R
eye_L
eye_R
head

Ungroup brow_L first by dragging with middle button.

17.

Next, ungroup brow_R

18.

Next, ungroup eye_L and eye_R

19.

Finally, ungrroup head

20.

Delete empty group node.

21.

Now, move back the objects to eye_surprise
Remember, the object order has to be
brow_L
brow_R
eye_L
eye_R
head

22.

23.

24.

Now I am going to crate Blend Shapes.
Select all eye shapes then select Neutral.

25.

Go to blend shape option.
Create Deformers > Blend Shape > Option
Name A_eye on your BlendShape node.
The slider name will appear on alphabetical order so put A on the first slider node.

26.

Deformation order should be Parallel. Other option doesn't work well.
Apply
blend shape.

27.

28.

Name as B_mouth.

29.

Make sure to choose Parallel order.
Apply Blend shape.
